Welcome to the Office of Sustainability's website!

    What is Sustainability?

Sustainability entails meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, by making social and economic challenges compatible with environmental responsibility. For more information on the office, click here.

    Commercial Recycling Programs

    Commercial and Multi-Family Recycling

Recycling is required by state law. Everyone must recycle, including residents, businesses, non-profits, and all public and private agencies and institutions. Commercial and multi-family buildings that currently do not recycle must contact their trash hauler or Public Works to obtain recycling services.

All commercial and multi-family entities must file a site cleanliness plan with the City of New Haven Department of Public Works. Download the site cleanliness plan form and instructions.
