The Court Liaison is responsible for the interaction between the New Haven State's Attorneys Office and the police department. He/she is responsible for filing with the State's Attorney all cases prepared for court in the requests for criminal misdemeanor and/or felony filings to then be filed with the appropriate court. Felony and misdemeanor arraignments are handled on a daily basis. All traffic citations, traffic accidents and municipal code violations are also filed with the State's Attorneys Office. The Court Liaison also handles all requests for evidence, additional documentation and follow-up by the State's Attorneys Office as requested. The Court Liaison handles the receipt, logging and issuance of all subpoenas from the State's Attorneys Office, and is responsible for notifying an officer as to whether he or she must appear in court.
