2008 Season Dates for Softball and Volleyball:

  • March 10 - First day to turn in rosters and fees at the Parks office. Call Larry Amendola, 946-8022, or Hershey Hatton, 946-8019 to arrange for drop-off.
  • April 7 - Deadline for turning in rosters and fees.
  • April 23 - 6:00 p.m. meeting at Career High School.
    A coach, manager or designated member of the team must attend to learn about rules changes, illegal bats, receive schedules, etc. Anyone not attending the meeting will not get their paperwork until the day after the meeting.
  • May 4 - First day of the season begins today with our Sunday men at East Shore and Blake parks.
  • May 9 - Last day to turn in your paperwork (roster and fees) for information about the VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE.
    Call Cutsy Celentano at 469-1655, Larry Amendola, 946-8022, or Hershey Hatton, 946-8019.
    American Cancer SocietySummer volleyball league season: June thru August (starting date to be determined by team availability.) Please call to confirm.
  • July 19 & 20 - Breast Cancer Tournament coed, men, women All welcome Call Larry Amendola for information, 946-8022. Winners of last year’s tournament will not pay a tournament fee. *Men: Replacements - *COED: Fosdick - [ Download the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer flyer ]
  • August 10 - Sunday men finish the spring-summer season to get ready for the umpire league which begins September 7th.
  • August 19 - Tuesday Women’s League finishes season. (their request) they may finish sooner if playoffs are completed.
  • September 29 - Deadline for Monday coed and men’s teams playing on Tuesday & Wednesdays finish the season. They may finish sooner if playoffs are completed.
  • October 9 - 911 League finishes the season.
  • October 10 - Friday Coed Sober League finishes season.

Lighthouse Point Adult Beach Volley Ball League

RULES and FEES:

  1. Teams consist of 3 men and 3 women on the court at all times.
  2. No back line spiking. 
  3. Entrance fee: $150.00 Checks to be made out to Treasurer, City of New Haven. There will be no forfeit fees.
  4. $15 Referee Fee by each team for each session of 2 or 3 games. (best 2 out of 3). Give money to score keeper before the games begin. 
  5. In case of inclement weather, call 946-8030 or Larry at 946-8022.

Rain Make-Up: Scheduled games on Wednesdays will be made up on Thursdays. If a second league plays on Mondays, the makeup will be played on Tuesdays. Note: Only if all slots are filled for Wednesdays will Mondays be offered for a second league.
