Readmobile

You may have spotted the New Haven Free Public Library's 26 foot colorful Readmobile at a neighborhood school, a local organization, at an event on the Green or at one of the city's parades. Originally put on the road thanks to State funding of Priority Schools, the Readmobile keeps making in roads beyond its 2001 creation. Sporting a revolving collection that includes picture books, parenting materials, homework help materials, story kits, books for teenagers and a range of adult hits, 10-15% of the materials are in Spanish.

When on the road, the Readmobile offers patrons the convenience of checking out materials, registering for a library card, searching the library's catalog, placing reserves on items and requesting materials through interlibrary loan.
