    (1/20/2012) The Hartford Courant - Tweed New Haven Regional Airport had more people flying in and out last year than any year since 2005.A total of 39,791 passengers departed Tweed on U.S. Airways Express flights last year, the second best year since 1999, the airport said.Tweed serves connecting flights via Philadelphia, which is a hub for U.S. Airways' national and international flights.The airport's traffic was an 11 percent increase last year over 2010, said airport manager Lori Hoffman-Soares. ...

    (1/10/2012) Yale Daily News - In the darkening days of winter, things may be brightening up for the New Haven economy.The latest jobs report from the U.S. Labor Department released Jan. 6 said that employers across the country added 200,000 jobs in December, pushing the national unemployment rate down from 8.7 percent to 8.5 percent by the end of 2011.
