New Haven Green Map

City Plan and the Yale Urban Resources Institute are collecting information for use in updating the 2004 Green Map.

Green Maps illuminate the inter-connections between society, nature and the built environment, helping residents make lower impact lifestyle choices and discover great ways to get involved in the urban ecology. Click here to view the third edition of the New Haven Green Map (front) and (back) . In preparing a Green Map, New Haven has joined cities worldwide belonging to the Green Map Systems organization.

If you are a business or organization that offers an environmental service, or if you have suggestions for places that should be included on the new Green Map, we would like to hear from you. Contact: Alec Vincintorio

New Haven Air Toxics Project

The New Haven Air Toxics Project is a pilot project of EPA's Integrated Urban Air Toxics Strategy. Under the management of the City Plan Department and the Board of Health, this initiative is intended characterize the local air toxics problem and to work with the community to reduce the threat to public health. The City has developed a draft inventory of air toxic emissions from local sources. The inventory contains emissions estimates from point, area and mobile sources (both on-road and off-road) and includes 116 pollutants and pollutant groups.
