The Department realizes that many people through out the city of New Haven chose to use a bicycle as means of transportation to get around. While some do it for the convenience, others for exercise and still some for economical reasons, the city has provided bike lanes on the streets exclusively for bike riders. New Haven is a environmental friendly city, these bike lanes help promote an environmentally clean city, as well as decreases parking demand and congestion on our busy streets
