Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking

Reporting Transportation, Traffic & Parking Related Issues On-Line

In order to effectively and efficently handle issues that occur within the City of New Haven, the department utilizes various methods and tools to handle issues as they arise. One of these tools is through the use of an on-line reporting system called See Click Fix. It's the department's responsibility to maintain traffic signs, bus shelters, traffic signals, parking meters and pavement markings, as well as other city assets. We rely on our division crews for maintaining, installing and repairing these assets but we also appreciate it when you, the citizen, report issues that concern you, as it allows us to maintain a vibrant and safe working and living environment for everyone to enjoy.

By clicking on the See Click Fix link, you have the ability to proactively engage with the department and assist us in maintaining and a healthy and safe working and living environnment. Thank you!

    LEAF CLEANING BEGINS November 1ST.

Our Department of Public Works will be posting select areas for special leaf cleaning pick-up.  These areas can't be predetermined because it depends on when the leaves fall from the trees.  In you park on the street in any of our neighborhoods, please check for the special paper posted street sweeping signs to avoid being ticketed and towed.

REMINDER: ALL PARKING METERS CITYWIDE ARE IN EFFECT UNTIL 9:00P

All parking meters are in effect until 9:00pm Monday through Saturday.  However, after 5:00pm, there are no time limits associated with any meter.  That means after 5:00pm, you can pay all the way up until 9:00PM.  In the city center, our new meters also accept Credit Cards.  Please check each meter for time and rate.
