Electric Truck StopIn partnership with the New Haven Port Authority, the City is constructing a 14-space truck stop that will provide heating, cooling and electrical hookups to trucks, so that they will not have to idle their engines while waiting for access to port terminals or otherwise staying in the port area. |
Municipal Energy EfficiencyThe City of New Haven has been working with SourceOne, Inc. to perform energy audits on all City (non-BOE) buildings and develop a list energy conservation measures that have short-term paybacks, producing financial savings in the short term. Â Both the audits and the energy conservation measures are funded by the US DOE Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. Â The energy efficiency measures will be implemented starting in 2010. |
Wind TurbineCurrently, the Office is working to set up a 5 kilowatt demonstration wind turbine at either the Long Wharf area or at the new electric truck stop. |
