The Towing Unit oversees all vehicles towed under police direction within the city. Vehicles are checked to verify ownership and to ascertain status (if vehicle or plate is stolen or the plate is misused). Staff also monitors the tow companies which are contracted by the city to ensure their compliance with regulations. Police meet with tow company representatives periodically and also conduct on-site inspections.
