The Special Investigations Unit investigates crimes relating to Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Missing Persons, Bias and Hate, and Serious Juvenile Offenses. SIU collaborates with many local agencies in assisting with victims of these serious crimes, including Yale Child Study, Department of Children and Families, Clifford Beers Clinic, Yale Sexual Abuse Clinic, Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis, Women and Families Center, and Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven. It provides an umbrella of services and strategies to improve coordination resources to victims and their families.
