Mobile Playground Bus Schedule
The Buses are COMING!!
The New Haven Department of Parks and Recreation Presents:
The Mobile PlaygroundThe two mobile playgrounds will travel throughout the city and provide equipment such as balls, ropes, arts and crafts supplies, nets, tables and chairs, until Aug. 11. The program, launched by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees, has a goal of bringing play equipment to neighborhoods that are under-served by existing playgrounds. The buses will be in different neighborhoods from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Intro to Archery
The Beginner Archery series of classes concentrates on range rules, safety rules and fundamentals of archery, and is taught using recurve bows. The beginner session is appropriate for those who have never shot a bow, or those with some previous experience that are seeking a refresher session.
All safety gear and equipment will be provided. (Bow, arrows, finger tab, arm guard, quiver). Class is limited to 10 students (more if a special group/camp, etc, with advance notice). Classes open to all ages (8 and above). Parents & children may shoot together.

Pardee Rose Garden and Greenhouse
The rose garden and greenhouse are located at 180 Park Road, at the intersection of Park Drive and Farm Road in Hamden, CT. The Rose Garden, established in 1922, is 2 acres in size. The Gardens, Greenhouse and Center are part of New Haven's extensive East Rock Park and are maintained by the City of New Haven's Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees.
Friends of Pardee Rose Garden and Greenhouse (FPRGG) has planting sessions every Wednesday from 10:00 am until noon. Volunteers are welcome to join in the planting under the supervision of Parks' resident horticulturist Matt. The sessions involve planting of seeds and then transplanting seedlings into flats. We have plants specifically chosen for the Butterfly Garden at Lighthouse Park and other plants for specific park and public sites throughout the City of New Haven.
