Wednesday Walks - Edgewood Park

Meet at 720 Edgewood Ave
Be healthier with a Ranger guided stroll through Edgewood Park. These easy hikes are intended for people of all hiking abilities. Hikes are free and appropriate for ages 5+.

Monument Tours - East Rock Summit

Walk to the top of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument on the top of East Rock Park.

Outdoor Adventure Club - Geocoaching - Edgewood Park

For students ages 8-11 who enjoy the outdoors and want to experience New Havens Parks. The OAC meets once a month and participates in an adventure/nature based program. Pre-registration is required.

Spring Tennis Programs
Pee Wee Tennis
This program is designed for beginning players ages 4-6 and are one-half hour in length. The focus is hand-eye coordination and learning to hit the ball.
Little Champs Tennis
This program is designed for beginning players ages 6-8 and are one hour in length. Utilizing the QuickStart format, the participant quickly is learning to rally the ball over the net and playing games.
Future Stars Tennis
This program is designed for beginning players ages 9-11 and are one hour in length. Utilizing the QuickStart format, the participant quickly is learning to rally the ball over the net and playing games.
Stars Tennis
This program is designed for beginner and adanced beginner players ages 12 - 14 and are one hour in length. Utilizing the QuickStart format, the participant quickly is learning to rally the ball over the net and playing games.
Adult Lessons
Want to learn how to play tennis or improve your strokes? Back by popular demand is a short series of ADULT lessons...with the aim to get you out on the court playing for the entire season. Tennis is a great way to stay fit and make some friends in the process.

Intro to Archery
Location: West Rock Nature Center
When: Thursdays May 17, 24 & 31
Fee: $30 per person
• 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Youth 8 - 15 year olds
• 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Adult Shooting (16+ yrs)
The Beginner Archery Series of classes concentrates on range rules, safety rules and fundamentals of archery, and is taught using recurve bows. The beginner session is appropriate for those who have never shot a bow, or those with some previous experience that are seeking a refresher session.
All safety gear and equipment will be provided. (Bow, arrows, finger tab, arm guard, quiver). Class is limited to 10 students (more if a special group/camp, etc, with advance notice). Classes open to all ages (8 and above). Parents & children may shoot together.

Edgewood Park Clean-Up Day
Saturday, May 5, and
Sunday May 6
10:00am - 12noon
The Friends of Edgewood Park in cooperation with the New Haven Parks Department are sponsoring a clean-up in Edgewood Park. They are looking for volunteers and volunteer groups to pick up trash and do plant and trail maintenance. Meet at the playground, Edgewood Ave. and Ella T. Grasso Blvd.
