Camps run for two-week sessions unless otherwise noted.

Session Two: July 11- July 22, Session Three: July 25 - August 5

City camps offer swimming, arts and crafts, special activities, nature and outdoor programs, field trips, and recreational sports. Breakfast and lunch are provided unless otherwise noted.Extended day (before and after-camp care) is available where indicated.

Nature Pals
A camp for young nature lovers, with games, hiking, trips, arts and crafts, swimming, and nature study.

Eco Adventure Camps
Eco camps offer a unique, challenging and fun combination of outdoor adventure and environmental education, tailored to four age-specific groups.

Theater Camp
New Haven Summer Theater Camp lets kids experience the thrill of performance while boosting confidence and practicing theater skills in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The Camp will run out of Hill Regional Career High School. Each 2-week session will include theater games, warm-ups, script writing, set decorating, singing, dancing, acting, staging, and more. Camp sessions conclude with a performance of a short play written and staged by the campers.

Games began on June 20 and run through August 1, played on Monday and Wednesday evenings, starting at 6:00 through 10:00pm. Playoffs begin August 3. The Championship Game will be played on Monday, August 8 at 7:00.

Midnight Basketball Association League
In its eleventh season, the Midnight Basketball Association League games run from June 20 through August 13 at the Ralph Walker Rink, 1080 State Street. Staff and coaches are current or former basketball players and community members who are dedicated to providing a positive experience for the players. ArcheryThe Beginner Archery series of classes concentrates on range rules, safety rules and fundamentals of archery, and is taught using recurve bows. The beginner session is appropriate for those who have never shot a bow, or those with some previous experience that are seeking a refresher session.

All safety gear and equipment will be provided. (Bow, arrows, finger tab, arm guard, quiver). Class is limited to 10 students (more if a special group/camp, etc, with advance notice). Classes open to all ages (8 and above). Parents & children may shoot together.

Pardee Rose Garden, Greenhouse and Center

Pardee Rose GardenPardee Rose Garden, Greenhouse and Center are located 180 Park Road, Hamden, CT 06517-3845, at the intersection of Park Drive and Farm Road in Hamden. The Rose Garden, established in 1922, is 2 acres in size. The Gardens, Greenhouse and Center are part of New Haven's extensive East Rock and are maintained by the City of New Haven's Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees.

The Rose Garden, containing an array of flowers from early spring until mid fall, features one of Connecticut's finest display of roses. For information regarding the Gardens, the Pardee Center and beautifully restored Pardee Greenhouse, contact Matt, the City's resident horticulturist at 203-946-8142.

Also found in the garden is a raised, tiered arbor structure that resembles the top of a wedding cake. Traditionally, many brides and grooms come here for wedding pictures. Please call 203-946-8020 for a Park permit if you are considering a photo shoot or wedding at this site.
