Spring Adventurer’s Camp Schedule
Where: Trowbridge Environmental Center at East Rock Park
When: April 18-21, 2011
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Who: 10 – 13 year olds

The New Haven Department of Parks Recreation and Trees will be offering an exciting Spring Adventure Camp for the week of April 18 - 21.
Children will enjoy numerous stimulating outdoor and indoor activities.
The camp is scheduled between the hours of 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Scholarships will not be available. All programs will meet at Trowbridge
Environmental Center in East Rock Park (Near corner of Orange and Cold Spring). Campers must arrive at 9:00 AM., and be picked up at 3:30
PM. Transportation will be provided between the different sites used for the camp.

April 9th Big Event - Cleanup in numerous parks around the City
On Saturday, April 9, Quinnipiac University, Southern Connecticut State University and Yale University will send students to help the City clean up after this awful winter. It is expected that a minimum of 400 students, with supervisors, will converge on the following parks:
- East Rock Park
- Edgewood Park
- Long Wharf
- West River Memorial Park
- Criscuolo Park

- Fort Nahtan Hale
- The New Haven Green
- State Street
- Lighthouse Point Park

Edgewood Park Clean-up
April 9 and 10 from 10 AM until noon
Friends of Edgewood Park is sponsoring a clean up with the New Haven Parks Department on April 9 and 10 from 10 AM until noon. The Saturday clean up leave from the playground and Ranger Station. (near Edgewood and Hobart) On Sunday we will leave from the Farmer's Market area (near West Rock and Whalley). Adults and children are invited. Groups are also invited. If you plan to bring a group, please send FEP an email at: friendsofedgewoodpark@gmail.com.
Edgewood Park Nature Pals Playgroup
Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:00 am -
$35/New Haven family ... 7 weeks
Explore the wonders of nature with your little ones, ages 2 -5 at the Edgewood Park Ranger Station. This fun, weekly program includes activities, story time, outdoor exploration and a craft project all based on a different nature theme each week. A kosher snack is also provided. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Family Fishing Day at Lake Wintergreen
Wednesday, April 20, 12:30 pm to 2:30pm
This is a favorite activity for some of our rangers, who will be happy to pass on their "secrets" while they demonstrate fishing techniques and equipment. Our salt and fresh-water fishing derbies are becoming more and more popular.

Rock to Rock - Annual Earth Day Ride
Cycling celebration from West Rock to East Rock.

Explore New Haven by bicycle. Rock to Rock is a day-long celebration of Earth Day, and of New Haven's rich environmental and cultural resources. Here's how it works: You and a few hundred others will travel from West Rock and East Rock, with celebrations on both sides of the city. Along the way, eat tasty food, hear great music, take on environmental service projects, explore Edgewood and Beaver Ponds Parks, and ride Farmington Canal Trail and official city bike lanes.
All are welcome: Families and college students, children in tow, serious riders and weekend warriors. Join our rock band.
