    the City of New Haven's Department of
    Parks, Recreation and Trees.

    At the Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees our mission is to create community through people, parks and programs.
    We are responsible for the stewardship
    of the city's over 2,200 acres of parks,
    the tree belt and we offer
    a wide variety of programming.

    Summer Basketball Champions
    Plus Two - College Champs East Haven - High School Champs
    On Friday, August 8, at Wilbur Cross HS.
    "Plus Two" defeated "D.B.A. All-Stars"
    to win the College Division
    Summer League Championship 62-59
    The second game
    "East Haven H.S." defeated "Career H.S."
    to win the High School Division
    Summer League Championship 48-44
    This was the 33rd year under Bill Dixon leadership and the summer existence.
    Glenn Middleton's "Kings" won
    Midnight Basketball League NBA Division
    by defeating the "Bulls".
    Gerald McClease Sr. "Bulls" team was runner-up to the "Kings" in the NBA division.
    "Louisville" defeated "Duke" in the College Division.

    Shanilya Bush team "The Storm" defeated "Liberty"
    in the WNBA Division.
