With summer in full swing, there are many fun activities taking place throughout the City that you should be sure to take part in:
Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Drive
On Monday, July 28th at 2:30 p.m., Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and DKMS Americas will sponsor a Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Drive at the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium located on 50 South Main St., West Hartford, CT. The Red Cross is appealing to every eligible individual to make an appointment to donate blood, as the Connecticut Blood Services Region is currently experiencing a significant shortfall in blood inventories. I urge all eligible New Haven residents to participate in this effort to replenish Connecticut’s blood supply by becoming donors and encouraging their friends, family, and co-workers to do the same. The Red Cross will run a number of drives in New Haven over the course of the next several weeks. The first will take place at the Shubert Theater at 247 College Street from 11:30 am until 4:00 p.m. A second drive this week will take place Friday, August 1, from 12:15pm to 5:45pm at the New Haven Chapter House at 703 Whitney Avenue. Please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule an appointment. For more information on blood drives near you, or to schedule your own community drive, please visit www.bloodct.org.
