    Office Of The Mayor
    Seasonal Options This Weekend

For anyone still unconvinced, two special events this weekend surely confirm the welcome arrival of spring in New Haven.

On Saturday at Wooster Square, the CitySeed/Wooster Square Farmerís Market will open for the season. There is no better way to connect city residents with the fresh, wholesome bounty from local farms and orchards, and it meets two justifiable goals. First, it promotes good eating habits and the importance of nutritious food, and it helps support important local businesses.

Later that day, at the 4th annual Fair Haven Family Stroll, residents will step out to raise awareness of the urgent need for high-quality early education. The Family Stroll is meant to engage the Fair Haven and extended New Haven community in the overarching conversation about other ways in which we can ensure a better future for children as well, to include healthcare, literacy, and personal safety, starting in their early years.

Each of these traditions reminds us of the rich, cultural history we share and the many options we have to spend leisure time in New Haven.

I hope our paths will cross at one or more of these enriching events!
