SIX RESPONSES RECEIVED IN COLISEUM SITE RFQ
(4/23/2008) NEW HAVEN- The City of New Haven is pleased to announce that receipt of six responses from developer-driven teams seeking the opportunity to transform the Coliseum site into an vibrant mixed-use urban streetscape. These submissions are in response to the Citys solicitation for qualified developers who are interested in redeveloping the former Coliseum site. The site is currently a 4.5-acre surface parking lot located at 275 South Orange Street in downtown New Haven. The following are the respondents and their teams:

The demolition of the former New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum was completed in August 2007 and the property was converted into a temporary surface parking lot, which opened on December 1, 2007. On February 10, 2008 the City released a Request for Qualifications to identify developers who are interested in and qualified to redevelop the former Coliseum site so that it contributes to the overall long-term growth and vitality of the city.
In the next month, the City will be analyzing the responses that were submitted and working with a review committee to review the qualifications of these teams.
