A downtown parking ban will go into effect tonight night beginning at midnight and will end at 6 am on Friday morning. The downtown parking ban encompasses all streets within the area bounded by Howe Street, Tower Parkway, Grove Street, State Street and North Frontage Road. Cars remaining parked on downtown streets during the parking ban will be towed. A parking ban is also in effect for posted snow routes and residents are asked to park on the even side of the street where ever possible. Free parking will be available in the Temple Street garage for those arriving between 7pm and midnight tonight and beginning at 7pm tomorrow. Parkers will be given a voucher that will enable them to exit without charge until 10am Saturday morning.
Residents are reminded that parking is prohibited within 25 ft fire hydrants, intersections and bus stops.
Conditions may become extremely cold throughout the evening, residents are reminded that kerosene heaters are illegal because of their danger and to use extreme care when using other space heaters and candles. Residents can call the EOC at 203-946-8221 to report storm related issues including the loss of heat.
