    EAST HAVEN PURSUIT RESULTS IN AUTOMOBILE COLLISION IN NEW HAVEN

    (10/16/2007) NEW HAVEN- East Haven Police chased a vehicle into New Haven during a pursuit at 6:25 p.m. this evening. The pursuit ended in a motor-vehicle collision between the suspect, 19-year-old Jesus Torres, and two vehicles at the intersection of Quinnipiac Avenue and Runo Terrace in New Haven. Victims from the two vehicles involved in the accident were sent to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

    East Haven Police are responsible for the pursuit and related investigation. New Haven Police are handling the traffic accident and charging Torres with reckless driving, evading responsibility and operating a motor-vehicle without a license. Torres is a New Haven resident and will also be charged by East Haven for reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit and a number of other violations. Torres reportedly disposed of a 9mm handgun in New Haven before he was apprehended by East Haven police.
