(10/4/2007) and Hospital Prepare to Move Forward in the Best Interest of Residents and Patients
NEW HAVEN- After more than 8 weeks of negotiations, the City of New Haven and Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) have reached an agreement to move forward with all aspects of the Hospital’s expansion project. This agreement signals an end to arbitration proceedings and an opportunity for YNHH to embark upon the next phases of construction and design for a cancer center and additional development projects expanding the current hospital campus.
“We’re excited to move forward and pleased that we were able to work closely with Yale New Haven Hospital to reach this agreement,” said Kelly Murphy, New Haven Economic Development Administrator. “We look forward to proceeding with the hospital’s projects for the benefit of the City, our residents and patients.”
“We’re pleased to be moving forward with these projects and appreciate all of the hard work involved to get this done,” said Norman Roth, senior vice president, Administration, Yale-New Haven Hospital. “This cancer hospital is important to the future of both the hospital and the City. It will create hundreds of new jobs, millions in new revenue for New Haven and new hope for those living with cancer.”
