Audio-Visual Materials Borrowing Policy
1. A valid library card or picture ID must be presented each time
audio-visual materials are borrowed. Audio-visual privileges are not
transferable.
2. All patrons 18 years and older have full borrowing privileges.
Young adult patrons (ages 13-17) may borrow materials with parental
consent given at the main circulation desk. A parent must check out
videos and DVDs for children under 13.
3. The library will assume NO RESPONSIBILITY for the content of
audio-visual materials borrowed by young adults.
4. The library will assume NO RESPONSIBILITY for damages to the
borrower's audio-visual equipment.
5. The Borrower will assume FULL RESPONSIBILITY for lost or damaged
audio-visual materials.
6. The Borrower will assume FULL RESPONSIBILITY for books, booklets,
and cassettes that circulate with audio-visual materials; if they are
lost or missing the borrower will be charged the dollar amount for
replacing the item.
7. At any one time a patron may borrow 3 videos or DVDs, 3 CDs, and 3
cassettes.
8. Videos and DVDs circulate for 5 days, CDs and cassettes circulate for 28 days. Videos and DVDs may be renewed for 2 days, CDs and cassettes for an additional 14 days. Holds may be placed on all audio-visual materials.
9. Audio visual materials should be returned directly to the
circulation desks at the Main library or any of its branches.
Returning these materials to the bookdrops or to libraries in other
towns may result in damages for which the borrower will be
responsible.
10. Borrowers who return videos or DVDs late will be charged $1 per
item per day. The fee for late CDs or cassettes is $0.10
