Growing New Haven's Economy | New Haven News & Recognition

    For Entrepreneurs

Here are some helpful resources for new and growing entrepreneurs:

City of New Haven Facade Program

The Facade Program offers a reimbursement grant equal to 50% of the cost of approved facade improvements to commercial and mixed use properties, with a maximum grant of $30,000. In addidion, an additional reimbursement grant of up to $1,500 may be available to support facade-related architectural/design costs.

    Growing Local Businesses Pilot Program

The Office of Economic Development offers this pilot program to help new business start from ground level up, providing seed capital, business planning and incorporation technical assistance, partnership facilitation, financing planning, and business development case management. The program is interested in supporting businesses impacting neighborhood level jobs creation and local business ownership.

    CTech

CTech is State of Connecticut’s premier technology incubator program. It is an initiative of the Connecticut Innovations Pre-Seed Fund. In addition to providing incubator space to start-up technology ventures through CTech incubators, the Pre-Seed Fund provides start-ups with access to experienced investment managers, powerful partnerships and a solid track record of success.

    The Grove

The Grove is a new kind of space that encourages and supports people in their work and the development of new ideas that are solving the social, environmental, economic, and urban problems we face today. The Grove is more than just a space, it is a dynamic community of social innovators, artists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers that are the new face of New Haven.

    THE BOURSE

The Bourse is a generous next coworking space. What is that? It is a concept based on the premise that coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space, a cafe-like community/collaboration space for developers, writers and independents.

    New Haven SCORE

The New Haven Chapter of SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is part of a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation's small business. SCORE volunteers serve as "Counselors to America's Small Business."
