Overview

The New Haven Board of Zoning Appeals is established under Section 185 of the City Charter and other applicable local and state statutes. The Board consists of five regular members and three alternates.

General Duties of the Board of Zoning Appeals. The Board of Zoning Appeals reviews applications and appeals for a Variance; Special Exception or Review of Administrative Order.

The basis for review and other procedures for the activities of the Board of Zoning Appeals are contained in Section 63 of the New Haven Zoning Ordinance.
