Welcome to the Community!
The Community Services Administration (CSA) is firmly committed to addressing the health and well being of all New Haven residents. Encompassing the Youth Services Department, Elderly Services Department, the Health Department and the State-Administered General Assistance (SAGA Support), CSA is the health and social service arm of City Hall, dedicated to creating opportunities for all residents to thrive in our vibrant city!
Since its inception, CSA has worked collaboratively with community partners and city agencies to create (a) the Street Outreach Worker Program addressing youth engagement and violence prevention; |
(b) afterschool programming through the “Open Schools” concept; (c) the Office of New Haven Residents and the Elm City Resident Card to promote community and civic engagement; and (d) the Prison Re-entry Program. In addition, CSA devotes resources to address homelessness, teen pregnancy prevention, and early childhood development.
As CSA moves forward, we will maintain our commitment to leveraging resources to address the complex needs of New Haven residents. We will focus on the impact of policy on the health of New Haven residents and identify ways to meaningfully address the social factors that affect health and wellbeing in the community.
New Haven is truly a city diverse in its demography and neighborhoods; yet, is unified as an energetic and engaged community. Come visit the Office of New Haven Residents and our departments to learn more about what our community has to offer and how you can play a greater role in keeping New Haven a healthy and vibrant model city!
Until then, be well!
