2010 Declaration of Personal Property
The City of New Haven, Office of the Assessor has mailed its 2010 Declaration of Personal Property forms to all known accounts. To view the listing of recipients, please click here. Taxpayers are to complete and return such forms to the City’s Office of the Assessor, 165 Church Street, New Haven, CT. by November 1, 2010.
In addition to completing the form in a timely fashion, it is also important that when you return the completed form that you receive confirmation of receipt by the Assessor and that you keep the confirmation as part of your permanent tax records.
You can accomplish this by:
- Returning document in person to the Office of the Assessor, 165 Church Street, New Haven CT and requesting receipt.
- Mail via Certified mail/return receipt requested to Office of the Assessor, 165 Church Street, New Haven CT 06510
- FAX document to Office of the Assessor at (203)946-7122 and keep fax confirmation for your records
- Make PDF copy of completed document and send electronically to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Should you need an additional copy or know of someone in need of a copy, you can find a copy here. You can download the form and complete and return through one of the means listed above.
Failure to complete form by November 1, 2010, even if you have not received a direct mailing from the City, may result in your business/company being assessed at a higher value including penalties for late filing or non filing. Throughout the year, the City’s Office of the Assessor does search out businesses that are not represented on the referenced list
You will receive notice of your assessment from the Assessor in February 2011. This personal property assessment will be used to calculate your tax due July 1, 2011.
